Since our inception, we recognised the value that an analytical approach delivers in solving today’s complex IT challenges. Over the past 10 years, we've been working closely with a broad range of clients - applying advanced analytics to help them gain a deep understanding of their IT environments.
Everything we've learned along the way is applied to our solutions today - we've invested heavily in our technology and people, innovating and developing core IP in the analytics space since 2002. Our breadth of experience across a wide range of leading Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 clients, along with our continual innovation into the latest statistical modelling and analysis techniques, means we can deliver results rapidly and cost effectively to our client base.
From starting our business in Scotland in 2002, we have grown our client base steadily over the years, expanding our operations to London in 2006, mainland Europe in 2007, and most recently launching in North America in 2010. Sumerian currently has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and New York.
Sumerian’s services have been recognised and praised by leading technology bodies and industry analysts. These include, in May 2011, leading analyst firm Gartner naming Sumerian a "Cool Vendor" in IT Operations Management. In June 2011, Sumerian was selected as a winner of the Red Herring Top 100 Europe 2011, an award that recognises the top 100 private technology companies in Europe; and in October 2010, Sumerian’s client Bank of America Merrill Lynch won the award for Best Infrastructure Initiative at the annual American Financial Technology awards, using Sumerian’s analytical insight to inform its strategy.
Our name was inspired by the Sumerian, an innovative people who are credited as being one of the world's earliest civilisations, circa 3500 BC. The Sumerians built unique stepped pyramids known as ziggurats - the representation of which we use within our company logo. The ziggurat illustrates the steps we take to transform data into intelligence - with raw data as a base and gradual, pragmatic steps to transform the data into focussed insight.
