Tracy Collins - Data Manager

I joined Sumerian 6 years ago after graduating in Software Engineering. Sumerian's given me the opportunity to work in a variety of roles. My first role with Sumerian was as a Data Integration Engineer, managing scripts for transferring client data across to our network. 

I then moved into Service Delivery and was involved in setting up some key processes to allow us to scale and grow our client base. My current role as Data Manager involves project management responsibilities across our existing and new clients. 

Throughout my time with Sumerian I have been involved in some technology changes and migrations to new platforms, keeping my skill set up to date. I find Sumerian an excellent environment to work in - the people are friendly and helpful and no question ever goes unanswered. 

Paul Rogers - Data Architect

I work at Sumerian as a Data Architect. My role involves architecting and deploying data models for rollout to our clients. From a technical point of view, working at Sumerian gives me the ability to change and develop things quickly, be innovative and proactive - without getting bogged down in red tape.

It's great to be able to make fast decisions on design and adopt new technology where it makes sense. Employees are trusted to solve problems - you're given responsibility and have the freedom to explore new ideas.

Another important element for me is the work/life balance. I have a young family and working at Sumerian gives me the ability to work from home from time to time if I need to. It's another example of the trust that you are given here.

Stuart Thomson - Senior Analyst

I joined Sumerian in 2010 as a Senior Analyst. The first thing that struck me when I joined was how helpful my colleagues were in getting me up to speed. The maturity of the technology used in the analysis means that that there is learning curve that you have to climb, but it's very well supported and I got lots of help along the way as I gained new skills.

Now, nearly a year into my role, I'm working on a wide range of analytics services for Sumerian's client base. The great thing about working here is how varied the work is. My working day is never dull and there are always new areas to explore.

I've been able to expand my knowledge across many different technology challenges and industry sectors. I get satisfaction from seeing how Sumerian's insight helps organisations gain a different perspective and discover issues about their IT systems that they didn't know previously.
