Our graduate opportunities

We offer summer and work placement internship opportunities, as well as annual Graduate Analyst vacancies, which commence around September each year*. Internships

Our internships are normally 3 months in duration and give students the opportunity to work on a business focussed project under the supervision of a senior manager. Previous projects have included development of an internal Software Asset Management model, detection and projection of short and long term trends, and analysis and configuration of statistical models. Our internships are unpaid, but offer the potential to demonstrate capabilities for future opportunities with the company.

The Graduate Analyst role

The Graduate Analyst role is an entry level position to the Sumerian Analyst team. The role includes supporting the delivery of our unique IQ analytics services to our fast growing client base. You'll gain knowledge and understanding of Sumerian's technologies, client services and analysis techniques to build your level of involvement and responsibility for delivery.

Main Responsibilities

As part of the Analyst team, the Graduate Analyst will contribute towards the delivery of recurring and other analysis through Sumerian's defined delivery processes. Tasks will include:

• Performing analysis.
• Preparing reports.
• Interfacing with the Back Office to verify data quality, liaising with customers, when appropriate.

Scope/measurement of performance

• Measurement of performance will be assessed in the delivery of objectives and responsibilities as follows:
• Delivery of analysis to required timelines and quality standards.
• Meet the KPIs defined by the Analysis Manager.
• Ability to interface with other areas of the business.
• Contribution to continuing process improvement.

Qualifications/skills required

• BSc (2:1 or above desirable) in IT related, Statistics, Economics or Mathematics; Operational Research MSc would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal, confident and capable communicator at all levels internally.
• Can demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving.
• Knowledge and understanding of analysis and data modelling techniques.
• Experience with databases and SQL is desirable .
• Candidates should be technology literate and comfortable interacting with technical stakeholders.
• Previous external customer facing experience would be an advantage.
